About me

I’m a singer

It all started with my love for music. I have sung in opera productions, musicals, concerts, events… I perform both classical and rhythm music.

I am a ”diploma singer”, i.e. I have the highest possible degree in singing. I am a mezzo-soprano. I like my voice type because as a mezzo it is easy to play with both dark lower notes and bright upper notes. Ask me to perform at your event!

I am a singing teacher

I teach both classical and rhythm music (such as pop, rock, jazz, musical, folk music). I have been teaching in Helsinki from 1.1.2024. Before that I worked in Tampere for ten years. I also give training courses elsewhere in Finland. I coach both individuals and groups. I work in the cooperative Lilith. I have also worked at municipal music schools (RMO & Sasky) and grammar schools.

I am an online training developer

I have published several online courses. I started teaching online long before the corona. My youtube channel on vocal teaching has been a pioneer in its field.

I am a voice coach

I train speaking voice, vocal hygiene & ergonomy and performing for groups and individuals. I am qualified to coach speaking voice at the postgraduate studies in vocology at the University of Tampere. Find out more about voice coaching for communities.

I am a Master of Music

I graduated with a Master of Music degree from the Department of Vocal Music at Sibelius Academy in 2011. I majored in voice and vocal pedagogy (A, B, and C).  The studies also included the pedagogical qualification of instrument teacher and the basics of education science. Minor subjects included acting, piano, music history, languages etc…

I am a PhD

I have completed my postgraduate studies in vocology at the University of Tampere. My dissertation ”Imposto, resonance, singer’s expression – physiological and acoustic explanations of singing pedagogical concepts” was published and the dissertation was held in September 2023. I graduated as a Doctor of Philosophy in October 2023. In my dissertation, I used scientific methods to investigate what happens in the singer’s body when he or she implements various concepts, often based on imagination. Two articles were published in the Journal of Voice. One article, based on a survey, was published in Ainedidaktiikka-Journal. From 2023, I have been President of the Association of Finnish Vocologists.
